Dog attacks 2 people, is shot dead by deputy

knoxville, tennessee
A dog attacked two people in north Knox County Friday afternoon, and a Knox County deputy shot and killed the attacking animal, according to the KCSO spokesperson Martha Dooley.

Dooley says it happened at 301 Barberry Dr.

She says the dog bit one person, then attacked a man and his dog who were walking nearby. Around the same time, a deputy arrived and shot the dog, killing it.

Both dog bite victims refused medical treatment at the scene, Dooley says.

The dog's owner has been located, and deputies are interviewing her.

The dog was a pit bull.
